Job summary

Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office is hiring experienced current or retired law enforcement officers (police and deputy sheriffs) to join the ranks under Pay Schedule XIII, Grade 6S. The position offers a $12,000 hiring bonus paid in three installments, and salary commensurate with experience up to $64,932.

Requirements include two years of law enforcement experience, MPCTC certification, US citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass medical, background, and drug

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years' experience with a law enforcement agency as a Police Officer or Deputy Sheriff.
• Current MPCTC certification or certification within the last three years which includes firearms qualification.
• Must be in good standing with current agency or have retired within the past 3 years in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Serves civil and criminal process, makes arrests, maintains courtroom security, and transports prisoners.
• Enforces court orders by making arrests, collecting judgments, and conducting sheriff's sales and levies.
• Maintains custody and transportation of inmates to and from court proceedings and facilities.
• Carries and proficient in the use of firearms; operates county vehicle.
