Job summary

Jobtailor is looking for a hands-on trainee to perform deburring and basic surface finishing on metal parts. You will transport parts safely, assist machinists with workspace setup, and help keep the shop organized and compliant with SOPs and safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move materials safely (weights typically 25-50 lbs).
• Strong interest in mechanical trades, machining, or hands-on shop work.
• Willingness to learn machining processes and progress toward higher-level technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform deburring of metal components and basic surface finishing tasks.
• Safely transport parts and materials to and from cleaning stations, work areas, and storage locations.
• Assist machinists by preparing workspaces, organizing tools, and staging materials.
• Support general shop housekeeping and equipment maintenance tasks as directed.
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality requirements.
