General Motors is looking for entry‑level Software Engineers to join GM’s Data Software Engineering and Cloud teams. You’ll help build scalable data platforms and cloud services, collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver services for ingestion, processing, storage, and automation.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of software experience and foundational skills in Java, C++, Go, or Python. The role is hybrid with in‑office days in Austin, Warren, or Seattle and offers strong growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent real-world experience.
• 0–2 years of software‑engineering experience.
• Foundational proficiency in Java, C++, Go, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, deployment, and improvement of data and cloud services.
• Apply operational‑excellence practices: monitoring, alerting, incident response.
• Collaborate with software, data, ML, and cloud engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Implement features from design through testing, deployment and support with guidance.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Write maintainable, well‑tested code to improve service reliability and cost efficiency.
• Develop familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Learn tools and data workflows supporting our technology ecosystem.
