Job summary

TEKsystems in Columbus, Ohio is seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support data center infrastructure projects. This contract-to-hire role starts on site and offers hands-on training in structured cabling, fiber optics, and testing.

Responsibilities include pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling Cat5e/Cat6 cables, assisting with terminations, testing with Fluke tools, and maintaining a safe, organized work area while learning from experienced technicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, warehouse, maintenance, or similar hands-on environment.
• Ability to work on your feet and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Reliable transportation and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
• Assist with cable terminations and punch-downs.
• Label and identify cables according to project standards.
• Support basic cable testing using Fluke and other testing tools.
• Assist with fiber cable dressing and handling.
• Follow established safety procedures and job site standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Work under the direction of experienced technicians and supervisors.
