Job summary

County of Lehigh in Allentown, PA seeks an entry-level prosecutor to provide criminal legal services in the District Attorney's Office. You'll prosecute misdemeanors and low-level felonies, assist law enforcement, and participate in grand jury proceedings.

Role involves researching cases, drafting warrants and motions, and presenting witnesses. No extensive prosecutorial experience required; JD required and ability to handle trials with both jury and bench dispositions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs legal research and prepares cases for trial or non-trial disposition as deemed appropriate.
• Prepares, drafts, reviews, revises and approves search warrants, arrest warrants, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Works with law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations to guide and assist the on-going investigation.
• Prepares and presents witnesses and evidence to a county wide Grand Jury.
• Evaluates criminal cases for appropriate disposition and submits proposed dispositions to senior attorneys in the office.
• Prepares and presents primarily misdemeanor and potentially low-level felony cases for jury trial.
• Serves as assistant counsel on felony jury trials as needed.
