Job summary

Lehigh County District Attorney's Office seeks an entry level professional legal position as a criminal prosecutor. The role involves prosecuting cases, assisting law enforcement in investigations, and making charging decisions.

Expect trials before a jury or judge across magistrate to appellate levels, with limited prior prosecutorial experience required. Under supervision, you will perform research, draft and file warrants and motions, and assist with grand jury presentations.

Qualifications

• J.D. required for admission to practice law.

Responsibilities

• Performs legal research and prepares cases for trial or disposition.
• Prepares warrants, motions, pleadings and other legal documents.
• Works with law enforcement during investigations to guide the on-going case.
• Prepares and presents witnesses and evidence to Grand Jury.
• Evaluates cases for disposition and proposes outcomes.
• Prepares and presents misdemeanor and potentially low-level felony cases for jury trial.
• Serves as assistant counsel on felony jury trials as needed.
