Job summary

Maryland Port Administration (MPA) seeks a Crane and Fleet Technician I to join the Crane & Fleet Maintenance Division at the Dundalk Marine Terminal. The role performs preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of cranes, Passenger Boarding Bridges, fleet vehicles, and heavy equipment owned and operated by MPA.

Starting at Grade 14, the position offers advancement to Grade 16. A high school diploma and four years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of experience in testing, calibration, inspection, repair and maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on cranes, Passenger Boarding Bridges, fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical components and test operation of cranes and related equipment.
• Lubricate crane parts and related equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
• Assemble, set up, disassemble and transport mobile cranes.
• Monitor and document maintenance using prescribed reports.
