Job summary

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana seeks an energetic team member for the Hope Hall Residential Reentry Center in Evansville, Indiana. The Corrections Officer role supports a multi-disciplinary team ensuring a safe, secure, humane environment for individuals finishing prison sentences and transitioning to society.

Ideal candidates have security or reentry environment interest, a High School diploma or GED, and First Aid & CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• First Aid & CPR certification is required (VOAOHIN will provide if needed).

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical security by conducting searches of people, buildings, and vehicles.
• Obtain resident urine and breath samples to discourage substance use.
• Transport residents as needed.
• Write incident and disciplinary reports.
• Provide GPS/telephone-based monitoring for home confinement.
• Interact daily with individuals released from various security levels; maintain maturity and professionalism.
