Job summary

Kendal at Oberlin's Dining Services department is seeking a detail-oriented Entry Level Cook for a full-time 40-hour work week to support AM/PM cooks. The role involves cooking in a healthcare-focused community and upholding strict food safety practices.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will follow recipes, maintain production sheets, and participate in kitchen meetings, with shifts 6a-2:30p or 11:30a-8:00p, including rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in large-volume cooking.
• Healthcare facility or retirement community cooking preferred.
• Familiar with production sheets and recipe books.
• Able to read and write English.
• ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Open or close the kitchen according to position.
• Assist in training and scheduling on shift.
• Produce items according to recipes.
• Maintain proper temperatures and sanitation.
• Track daily production and update recipe files.
• Attend kitchen meetings and review needs for days ahead.
