Job summary

Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant is seeking an Entry Level Cook (Cook 1) for multiple dining venues. This full-time position offers hands-on kitchen experience in a high-volume, professional setting under the direction of the Sous Chef.

Responsibilities include ingredient prep, cooking via grill/fry/bake/steam, proper seasoning, food safety, and maintaining cleanliness and labeling. English proficiency and food safety certification are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.)
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil)
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements
