Overview

We’re excited to hire and welcome team members to our national park locations! Xanterra Travel Collection is a private company that provides concession services within national parks. All services operated by Xanterra, including lodging, dining, retail, and tour operations, are currently open and continue to operate as planned for the 2025 summer season. Any potential government layoffs within the National Park Service do not impact our positions or job offers.

We operate 47 dining venues, including dining rooms, fast-casual, cafeterias, bars, employee facilities, delis and snack shops. It's high volume, fast-paced and fun! Almost half of the Yellowstone summer staff work for the Food and Beverage Operation! The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: April/May start-Mid October end date
Pay: $17.50/hr
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (will include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, set-up, service, clean-up, and restocking of the cook's line and prep areas.
  • Follow sanitation requirements, including product rotation, temperature maintenance, storage procedures, cooking requirements, and handling techniques.
  • Maintain food preparation policies and procedures.
  • Produce food in mass quantities according to approved menu specs and in a timely manner.
  • Work from prep and par lists and follow standardized recipes.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Conduct oneself professionally, ensuring a congenial atmosphere for all.
  • Maintain appearance and uniform standards.
  • Work quickly, efficiently, and safely with all kitchen equipment.
  • Follow environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
  • Follow safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.
  • Be flexible and accept additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Basic sanitation and kitchen equipment skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and extend/convert recipes.
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly.
  • Ability to follow directions.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Stand for long periods (approximately 8 hours).
  • Walk for long periods.
  • Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods.
