Gilbane Building in Indianapolis is seeking a Safety Professional I to provide entry-level support for all safety efforts on the project. You will promote a culture of safety and coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with Gilbane safety standards.

The role emphasizes learning through Gilbane University and hands-on safety training, with responsibilities including inspections, incident investigations, and ensuring proper safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Entry-level safety knowledge with basic OSHA awareness.
• Familiarity with safety documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work with project teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Gilbane Cares safety culture.
• Preplans contractor safety activities through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.
• Ensures contractor safety submittals meet Gilbane requirements.
• Ensures contractor compliance with safety plan and expectations.
• Maintains safety documentation.
• Provides safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements.
• Investigates accidents/near misses and completes required paperwork.
• Ensures project teams have safety equipment and resources.
• Performs SafetyNet inspections and audits with required observations.
