Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Entry-level Environmental Health and Safety Assistant for a Los Angeles project. The role supports enforcement of EH&S policies, aids in risk management, and helps maintain safety records and training programs on a construction site.

The position requires an Associate Degree (or Bachelor’s in a related field) and up to 1 year of safety experience. Strong communication, organizational, and MS Office skills are essential; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with 1 year construction safety experience or equivalent
• Associates Degree as stated in Education
• Strong knowledge of safety/environmental principles and regulations
• Proficient in MS Office and data entry
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Assist with training for safe work practices and safety programs
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and owner requirements
• Review subcontractor training per OSHA standards
• Promote safe work practices and conditions on site
• Assist with administration of the drug screening program
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and worker orientation
• Gather Pre-Task Plans and Job Hazard Analyses per contractual requirements
• Maintain safety records and incident investigations
