Job summary

JPI seeks an entry-level Community Technology Specialist to join its Dallas office. You will assist in producing and coordinating low-voltage construction drawings, learning access control, video surveillance, and network infrastructure under mentorship from senior staff.

You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants, progressing along a defined career track toward CT Manager roles. Occasional site visits are expected with no field installation work required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architectural or engineering technology, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Zero to three years of experience; recent graduates and candidates moving from installation, service, estimating, or design support into design work are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the basic scopes of the CT scope.
  • Update low-voltage drawings in Revit and/or Bluebeam Revu as skills develop.
  • Coordinate with outsourced design teams to place devices on project drawings.
  • Assist with riser diagrams and wiring diagrams as skills develop.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and consultants during design reviews.
  • Maintain BOMs and equipment schedules under supervision.
  • Support in RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals pertaining to low-voltage items.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites for training and field verification.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management
