Job summary

Orchid MPS Holdings, LLC in Arab, Alabama, near Huntsville, is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate multi-axis CNC equipment (milling and turning) and produce precision medical components. You’ll monitor machine performance, document inspections, and support quality assurance under lean manufacturing practices.

Base pay starts at $20 per hour with a $3 shift differential for Shift 2, and candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalently from a machining program, plus experience with CNC

Qualifications

• High School Or Equivalent (Preferred).
• Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred).
• Experience Operating CNC Mills or Lathes Independently (Required).
• Experience Using Measuring Tools (Required).
• Experience Reading Basic Blueprints (Required).

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple CNC machines (lathes, mills, plunge) to produce parts.
• Monitor programs and ensure proper performance across machines.
• Complete work orders, inspections, and daily maintenance sheets.
• Set up machines with guidance and adjust as needed to maintain quality.
• Adhere to QMS procedures and participate in training.

SHIFT ALA - Shift 2 ($3) (United States of America - Alabama)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW

The CNC Machinist position contributes to the production of medical devices by operating multi-axis CNC machines, with the ability to identify X, Y, Z, and 0 coordinates. Responsibilities include operating multiple and varying CNC machines simultaneously, such as lathes, mills, and plunge machines. This position also offers a $3.00 per hour shift differential in addition to the $20 base hourly rate.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• The Machinist, CNC reports directly to the area Supervisor. Performs basic machining functions to produce parts.
• Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
• Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
• Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
• Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.
• Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Completes all required training.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
• Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)
• 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)
• Experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes independently (Required)
• Experience using measuring tools, (ex. Calipers, height gage, indicator) (Required)
• Experience reading basic blueprints (Required)
