Qualifications

• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC machining and boring bar operations.
• Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, tape measures) and dimensional inspection equipment preferred.
• Willingness to learn rigging, overhead cranes, and handling large metal components.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large CNC boring bar to machine heavy metal components and welded assemblies per shop drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret shop drawings to understand machining requirements.
• Prepare workpieces and assist with positioning, securing, and aligning large components.
• Assist with material handling and rigging following safety procedures.
• Monitor machining operations and identify potential quality issues or deviations.
