Job summary

JR Metal Works LLC is seeking an Entry-Level CNC Boring Bar Operator in the Heavy Fabrication Department to machine large welded assemblies and metal parts to engineering specs. No prior CNC or boring bar experience is required, with hands-on training emphasizing safety, accuracy, and quality.

Responsibilities include reading shop drawings, preparing and aligning heavy components, and collaborating with the team to meet production schedules while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
• Able to read shop drawings/blueprints/technical documents.
• Willingness to learn CNC machining and boring bar operations.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large CNC boring bar to machine heavy metal components and welded assemblies per shop drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Prepare workpieces and assist with positioning, securing, and aligning large components.
• Assist with material handling and rigging following safety requirements.
• Monitor machining operations and identify quality issues or deviations.
• Use inspection tools to verify dimensions and ensure quality.
