Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to support the Transportation team at the Boston, MA office. The role includes developing analytic and design skills, performing highway design tasks, and participating in planning and data analysis under supervision.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and offers exposure to AutoCAD, MicroStation, and industry-standard tools, with a hybrid work model and opportunities to grow within a global infrastructure leader.

Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
• Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software; knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, STAAD, MathCad
• Team oriented with strong communication skills.

AECOMis actively seeking a bright and highly motivatedEntry-Level Civil Engineerfor employment in our Transportation Business Line based out of ourBoston, MA office. This position will support our Highway Design team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design for State DOTs performing highway and roadway geometric design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads are the typical design tools.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
• Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software. Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, STAAD, MathCad).
• Team oriented with strong communication skills.
