AECOM is hosting an exclusive Architectural Design Intern event in Boston, MA. The internship offers a hybrid work schedule with in-office collaboration at One Federal St, Boston, and access to a global, award-winning studio atmosphere.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in Architecture with at least two years completed, capable of handling multiple fast-paced projects, and skilled in SketchUp, Revit, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. A portfolio is required for consideration.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field with at least 2 years completed.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Revit, Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and documents.
  • Ability to follow direction, ask questions when needed and manage tasks to completion.
  • Portfolio submission required to demonstrate skill set.

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities.
  • Performs entry level work, including occasional field work.

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Boston on October 21-22, 2026

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Boston office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM Boston Buildings + Places is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to join our team. We are an engaged, energetic, collaborative, award-winning studio with projects in aviation, transit, federal/state/local governments, science/technology, and higher education. It is a dynamic, fast-paced design environment, client-focused and collaborative. Recent projects have been multiple-award winners. We regularly work with other practices on the East Coast and are home to the region's urban design leaders.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
  • Performs entry level work, including occasional field work.
  • Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Revit, Microsoft Office Programs and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and documents.
  • Ability to follow direction, ask questions when needed and manage specific tasks to completion.
  • Returns work at a level of completion beyond expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Portfolio submission required to demonstrate skill set.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Boston, MA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Boston, MA on a scheduled basis.
