APTIM is currently seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer for our Solid Waste Services Group in Concord, California, to support various projects. Responsibilities include conducting field inspections, compliance monitoring, reporting, and construction quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluating geologic and hydrogeologic conditions and providing analyses
• Performing groundwater, leachate, stormwater, and landfill gas sampling and testing
• Preparing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and studies
• Data entry and statistical analysis
• Communicating technical concepts and evaluation results during team meetings
• Collaborating with team members, contractors, and clients
• Conducting field inspections and overseeing construction quality assurance
• Coordinating sampling activities and supervising field tasks as needed
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adhere to safety protocols

Basic Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Engineering
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience, including compliance reporting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with landfills or solid waste projects
• California Professional Geologist or Engineer license
• Experience with California State Water Resources Control Board
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with refresher
• Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods and Sanitas software
