Job summary

Thomas & Hutton seeks a civil engineer to support mission-critical and data center infrastructure projects in the Southeast. You’ll contribute to complex site development and utility design, collaborate with seasoned engineers, and grow in a Best Place to Work environment.

You’ll work on AutoCAD Civil 3D designs, coordinate with clients, and help prepare documentation while developing your skills in a fast-paced, high-performance setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required or imminent.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organized, accurate work.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site development construction drawings for mission critical and data center projects.
• Design water, sewer, storm drainage, and complex underground utilities.
• Develop design considerations and supporting calculations for site projects.
• Prepare reports, specifications, permit applications, and supporting docs.
• Model and design infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surface creation.
• Analyze site data, existing conditions, and entitlements for client site selection.
• Participate in client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination, providing technical input.
• Review work for quality and consistency.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
