Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any office or customer service experience in direct contact with the general public preferred.
• ICC Permit Technician certification a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review, intake, and processing of planning and building permit applications; liaise with the public and provide information on policies, procedures, fees, and timeframes.
• Provide public information to support building, planning, housing, and code enforcement programs; assist with marketing to establish new clients and strengthen relationships.
• Review and intake permit applications; determine and collect permit fees; route submittals to appropriate departments; maintain files; provide information to the public; respond to inquiries.
• Process minor planning applications; review business licenses and building permits for zoning compliance; enter invoices and reconcile payments; provide administrative support for public meetings.
