Job summary

Hoffman & Hoffman, Inc. is seeking an Associate Automation Engineer to support design, implementation, and commissioning of industrial control systems for BAS projects.

You will work under senior engineers to learn company standards and software integration while contributing to project execution and system optimization. You will gain experience in control system design, HMI/SCADA development, PLC/DDC programming, and field commissioning, with travel possible for project execution and site

Qualifications

• 0–3+ years in industrial automation, instrumentation and controls, PLC/DDC programming, or related field.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline; trade school considered with relevant experience.
• Familiarity with PLC/DDC and HMI configuration; HVAC or BAS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and assist in control system drawings and product selections.
• Configure HMI/SCADA screens and graphics per company standards.
• Support PLC/DDC programming tasks, tag configuration, and logic using common templates.
• Assist testing, device verification, bench testing, FATs, and site startup activities; travel may be required (up to 30%).
• Maintain project documentation including IO lists and sequences of operations.
• Adhere to safety procedures and contribute to quality and timely delivery.
