Job summary

Civicworks is seeking a budget analyst at entry or full performance level to provide budgetary and programmatic expertise to agency heads, the Governor, and Legislature.

You will assist in developing the Governor's Recommended Budget and implement the final operating budget, review federal assistance requests, and analyze fiscal activities, legislation, and public policies with fiscal impact.

Strong Excel skills and experience with word processing and databases are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Knowledge of financial administration including budgetary analysis, financial planning, revenue forecasting, and expenditure forecasting.
• Knowledge of analyzing legislation and developing public policies with fiscal impact assessment.
• Experience with standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data formatting and analysis from independent systems and external database sources (preferred).
• Ability to provide narrative report writing and make recommendations for operational changes.
