City of Las Vegas seeks a Financial Analyst I to support payroll processing, budgeting, and financial reporting within the Finance Department. The role emphasizes accuracy in payroll data, tax compliance, and reconciliation of multiple ledgers, with collaboration across IT and PERS reporting teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Excel skill set, familiarity with Oracle EBS, and the ability to audit and balance financial information while applying federal and state tax rules.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of payroll processing and payroll reporting experience.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; able to audit, balance, reconcile payroll data and GL activity.
• Knowledge of federal/state tax regulations, wage garnishments, and PERS.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare financial statements; maintain accounts incl. general ledger and reconciliations.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures; assist with budget amendments and forecasts.
• Support cash flow projections and grant-related financial reporting.
• Provide financial information to City Council, departments, and managers.
• Assist in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
