Job summary

Nexstar Media Group is seeking an entry-level Engineer for our TV operations in Mount Pleasant, SC. The role focuses on installing, testing, updating, repairing, and maintaining hardware and systems for broadcasting and business operations.

Candidates should have Broadcast and IT experience or related education and show the aptitude to learn quickly. Qualified candidates don’t need experience in all categories, but must demonstrate transferable skills and the ability to master responsibilities

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or Broadcasting, or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ experience with digital electronics in a television broadcasting environment.
• Experience with network administration and data security.
• Experience with broadcasting equipment (Audio/Video/Power).
• Familiarity with fiber optics and routing/patching.

Responsibilities

• Minimize system/service interruptions by rapidly identifying causes.
• Work with Chief Engineer to install, maintain, and document IT network hardware and printers.
• Install, test, update, repair and maintain broadcasting and business IT systems.
• Willing to work extended hours and various shifts; lift up to 35 lbs; climb ladders.
