Job summary

Nexstar Media Group Inc. seeks a Broadcast Engineer in Columbus, GA to operate, maintain, and repair broadcasting hardware and systems. You will install new systems, test infrastructure, and ensure minimal downtime during outages.

Responsibilities include setting up outside broadcasts and maintaining IT networks, backups, and workstations. Ideal candidates have a technical degree in digital electronics or related fields, at least three years in a television broadcasting environment, and strong

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English and excellent written/spoken communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum three years’ experience with digital electronics in TV broadcasting.
  • Proficiency with PCs, office equipment, and standard software.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, test, repair broadcasting hardware and systems.
  • Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station.
  • Install and test new systems and infrastructure.
  • Minimize service interruptions by quickly identifying and fixing issues.
  • Set up and operate equipment for outside broadcasts.
  • Maintain IT network, switches, backups, workstations and printers.
