Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Ability to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through training and on‑the‑job instruction.
• Capability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Prevent unauthorized entry and apprehend individuals near borders using surveillance and field techniques.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband and pursue appropriate actions.
• Perform security and patrol checks across various environments including urban and remote areas.
• Patrol borders and coastal regions using diverse government assets to fulfill USBP mission.
