Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking an entry-level Automotive Technician at its Michigan Auto Service centers. You will gain hands-on experience performing basic automotive services and delivering outstanding guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Training is provided, and experience is not required, with potential for fast-track career advancement. You will learn tire mounting and balancing, oil changes, and preventative maintenance, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in automotive maintenance is not required.

Responsibilities

• Mounting and balancing tires, oil changes, and basic automotive services.
• Train with mid and senior technicians to learn additional services.
• Provide excellent guest service and communicate clearly about guest vehicles.
• Promote teamwork and maintain adherence to safety policies.
• Perform a variety of manual tasks, including lifting tires and wheels.

Depending on location, our stores may be open 7 days a week, which may include weekends and some holidays

About the Role: What skills will you learn?

• How to complete basic automotive services like mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, filters replacements, and more
• Train with mid and senior level automotive technicians to learn additional automotive services.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles

• Maintain strict adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operation
• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including consumer tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting
