Job summary

Nielsen Nissan of Stanhope is seeking Automotive Apprentice Technicians to join our service team on-site in Stanhope, New Jersey. The role offers hands-on learning with guidance to develop skills toward advanced technician positions.

The position is full-time with a five-day schedule (Mon–Sat), paid weekly at $16.00–$18.00 per hour. A valid driver's license is required, and prior auto experience is helpful but not necessary for mechanically minded candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous automotive experience preferred but not required for candidates with mechanical aptitude and dependability.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license required and able to work Saturdays.
• ASE certifications are helpful but not required for entry level.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil/filters, tire rotations, and inspections.
• Follow dealership procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report findings to Service Advisor and obtain necessary authorization for work.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and properly use shop equipment.
• Document services performed, parts used, and inspection results.
