Job summary

Midas Auto Experts in New Jersey is seeking an entry-level general service technician to join our full-service shop. You’ll perform a wide range of automotive maintenance tasks with independence and teamwork as needed.

Responsibilities include oil changes, fluid services, tire mounting/balancing, brake and battery work, and inspections. A strong mechanical aptitude and a drive to learn will help you grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automotive basics and willingness to learn.
• Familiar with shop equipment and safety procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including fluid exchanges/flushes and oil changes.
• Visual safety and courtesy inspections
• Mounting, balancing, rotating tires and performing alignments.
• Replacing batteries
• Changing bulbs, belts and hoses
• Replacing brakes and rotors
• Suspension work
• Maintaining and cleaning shop areas
• Willingness to learn and grow as a technician.
• Other shop maintenance items as needed.
