Job summary

Department of Revenue seeks an Associate Auditor in Jefferson City to join the Internal Audit and Compliance team. You will audit contracted services and internal processes, with formal training provided to support your entry-level auditing skills.

You will work in a team to conduct audits and help ensure compliance across programs and organizations. This role requires a bachelor’s degree, up to 2 years of auditing experience, and willingness to travel statewide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration, or related field.
• 0-2 years of professional auditing experience.
• Willing to travel statewide, including overnight travel.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
• Computer experience with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Audit and evaluate program operations and activities for compliance, controls, and standards.
• Evaluate employees and contractors for policy compliance.
• Identify and correct management deficiencies using audit procedures.
• Interpret applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
• Prepare formal audit working papers with observations and recommendations.
