Job summary

Eaton is hiring for an Entry Level Assembly on the 2nd shift in Cleveland, TN. The position pays $19.26 per hour with a 5% shift differential. Typical hours are 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed and occasional Saturdays.

Training and career progression opportunities are available across departments. Responsibilities include assembling sub-assemblies using hand/power tools and robots, performing quality checks, and maintaining inventory and work areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months of hands-on work experience in an assembly, technical, manufacturing, or service-industry role that involves performing manual tasks or operating basic equipment/tools.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Cleveland, TN.
• Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from this geographical requirement.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
• This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform all tasks in compliance with Eaton quality standards and systems.
• Assemble small and large components to create sub‑assemblies or completed assemblies using hand tools, air tools, rivet guns, robots, and sub‑assembly machines.
• Build products according to drawings, routings, and work instructions.
• Perform quality checks in alignment with inspection plans to ensure product accuracy and compliance.
• Replenish and manage parts inventory at assembly stations to maintain proper material flow.
• Read, interpret and retain catalog styles, drawings, and work instructions to determine correct assembly procedures, component types, and configuration.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and support 5S standards.
• Collaborate in a team‑based environment, cross-train across all assembly lines, and assist in training new employees as needed.
• Work overtime as required to meet production and business needs.
• Lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and safely perform team lifts for heavier items.
• Stand and walk throughout the shift to perform assigned tasks.
• Operate assembly machinery and tools with a working knowledge of proper use and safety.
• Applicants should be comfortable completing repetitive tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
