Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an entry-level Assembler to perform repetitive assembly operations for products like windows, doors, and panels. No formal education or experience is required, and prior carpentry experience is helpful.

You will read simple instructions, perform basic math, and work across different stations on the assembly line. Responsibilities include assembling parts, cutting to measurements, and maintaining safety procedures.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required.
• Prior carpentry experience helpful.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to read tape measure.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Overtime work could be involved.

Responsibilities

• Place parts in specified relationship to each other.
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together.
• Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
• Remove defective products as needed.
• Tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Work in environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.
• Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
