Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts is hiring an Arborist Ground Person in Vermont to join a field crew. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in pruning, rigging, cabling, and removal of hazardous trees on residential and commercial properties.

You will work with a dedicated team, learn safety procedures, and gain experience with equipment like hand tools, chainsaws, and aerial lifts in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training in arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science or related field preferred but not required.
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required.
• Must adhere to safety rules and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Learn to prune trees, rigging, cabling and bracing.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders both on ground and aloft.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties.
• Follow work zone safety procedures and company policies.
