Bartlett Tree Experts is seeking an Arborist Ground Person to join our crew in Burlington, VT. This entry-level role offers hands-on, on-the-job training and a path to professional development in arboriculture.

You will learn to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including pruning, rigging, cabling, tree removal, and equipment operation, within a safety-first culture that supports career growth.

Qualifications

• Passion for nature and outdoors.
• Willingness to work year-round in all weather.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in tree care preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn through on-the-job training to safely perform arboriculture tasks.
• Prune trees, rig, cabling and bracing as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implement work zone safety procedures.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
• Follow all safety rules and company policies.
