Bartlett Tree Experts in Northern Neck, VA, is seeking an Arborist Ground Person. This entry-level role offers hands-on training on a professional tree-care crew, working with licensed arborists on commercial and residential properties.

You will learn pruning, rigging, cabling, hazard-tree removal, and safe operation of tools and equipment, while adhering to safety rules and company policies. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Passion for nature and the outdoors.
• Willingness to perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform all arboriculture tasks (pruning, rigging, cabling and bracing).
• Remove hazardous trees as needed.
• Properly maintain and operate equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implement work zone safety procedures.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties.
