Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, is hiring an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join the Aviation group in Seattle, WA. You will contribute to airport project design, support field observation, and collaborate with project teams to bring designs to life.

The role offers hands-on learning, field exposure, and opportunities for growth within a client-facing environment. A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Internships in civil/transportation engineering are beneficial.
• EIT certification is highly preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and surveying.

Responsabilités

• Design aviation civil engineering projects such as taxiways, aprons, runways, and related works.
• Assist with analysis and preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and designs.
• Perform QA/QC tasks including design reviews.
• Assist with development of construction cost estimates.
• Visit project sites to monitor progress and support project teams.
• May serve as onsite project representative or attend client meetings.
• Support client communication and project coordination.

As a result, a full-time position is available for a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation group at our Seattle, WA office.

This exciting position offers a great mix of hands-on learning and real-world experience, giving you the opportunity to contribute to impactful airport project design while also getting out in the field to see your work come to life. You’ll support engineering design in the office, while also spending time onsite observing construction progress, building relationships with project teams, and gaining valuable exposure to how projects are delivered from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing aviation civil engineering projects, which include taxiways, aprons, runways, and others
• Assisting with analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
• Performing QA/QC tasks including performing design reviews
• Assisting with development of construction cost estimates for various projects
• Visiting project sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per the contract documents
• May serve as onsite project representative – days or nights
• May assist with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
• May attend client meetings
• Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver’s license, the ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel to construction project sites approximately 25% (may also include overnight stays) will be required.

The successful candidate must have:

• A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by date of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all the following:

• Previous related civil / transportation engineering internship(s)
• EIT certification is highly preferred
• Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Comfortable with public speaking and working in a client facing role
• Strong communication skills
• Civil construction experience
• Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project software programs

Salary Range: $74,000 - $90,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
