Job summary

Cirrus is seeking an aircraft maintenance technician in Duluth, MN to inspect, repair and replace aircraft system components, and to evaluate and troubleshoot multiple aircraft subsystems after each flight. You will inspect engine and propeller systems and identify malfunctions via engine runs, ensuring airworthiness in line with aviation standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years experience in manufacturing or aircraft mechanical maintenance.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License required if no prior experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints and production illustrations to determine the locate and relate parts.
  • Sound judgement and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage stress with competing work demands and multiple projects.
  • Solid knowledge of hand & power tools.
  • Able to complete work on schedule.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills to independently operate, inspect, repair and replace aircraft system components.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot flight control rigging, structures, fuel, brake, environmental and electrical systems after every flight.
  • Examine engine and propeller systems for normal operation and make adjustments as required.
  • Identify source of malfunction by conducting engine runs to locate a fix.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as alternators, magnetos, propeller, ignition system, fuel system, etc.
  • Inspect engine parts for wear or defects and service aircraft systems as required.
  • Collaborate with Quality Department to certify aircraft readiness for Certificate of Airworthiness and support manufacturing schedule.
