Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Processing, New York (West Babylon) is seeking a Plater Trainee to learn aerospace metal finishing processes under certified leads. You will gain hands-on experience in cadmium plating, embrittlement relief bake, chromate coating, and other chemical operations following route cards and customer specs.

This entry-level role offers on-the-job training and certification in a safe chemical processing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• No plating experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Willingness to learn aerospace chemical processing operations and obtain required certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret documents written in English, including work instructions and route cards.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified Platers with electroplating (Cadmium) and other chemical processing operations.
• Learn proper plating, chromating, baking, and chemical processing techniques.
• Assist with wiring, racking, unloading, and baking of aerospace parts.
• Perform basic inspections of processed parts under supervision.
• Verify that procedures and customer requirements are followed and routes documented.
