Magellan Aerospace Processing, New York (West Babylon), has an exciting opportunity for a Plater Trainee. The successful candidate will learn aerospace metal finishing processes under supervision, including cadmium plating, embrittlement relief bake, chromate conversion coating, and other chemical steps.

This is an entry-level role with on-the-job training and safety-focused operations in a chemical processing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• No plating experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Willingness to learn aerospace chemical processing and obtain certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret English work instructions and route cards.
• Basic mathematical skills; attention to detail and quality.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
• U.S. Person status due to ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified Platers with electroplating and chemical processing operations.
• Learn plating, chromating, baking, and processing techniques per specs.
• Assist with wiring, racking, loading, unloading, and baking of parts.
• Perform basic inspections under supervision.
• Follow procedures and document production accurately.
• Coordinate with departments to maintain workflow and safety.
