Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to help bring X-BAT to first flight. You will own a project tied to avionics development, with mentorship from senior engineers and cross-functional leads.

We value first principles engineering and extreme ownership in a fast-growing defense-tech environment. You will participate in circuit design for embedded systems, system integration, and rigorous environmental testing to ensure reliability in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• Have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong technical fundamentals.
• Have been part of an engineering team/club.
• Experience with electrical design software, Altium, KiCAD, etc.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Own a design that directly impacts the X-BAT system and major flight test milestones.
• Full lifecycle ownership: concept, design, verification, integration, flight test, and manufacturing.
• Design efforts include: circuit design for embedded systems (analog, digital, power, high-speed, FPGA, MCU, EMI/EMC).
• System integration and verification.
• Environmental test, qualification, and automation.
• Debug, root cause, and drive resolution.
• Design for high reliability, radiation, temperature changes, and high vibration.
