Job summary

JDH Contracting in Mount Sterling, KY is seeking an entry-level Laborer for the Tower/Civils Division. This role involves performing skilled and unskilled construction tasks under supervision, following standards, and working independently as appropriate.

Responsibilities include site preparation, basic excavation, blueprints reading, and maintaining records; requires safe work practices and reliable transportation. Travel to multi-state job sites may be required. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a driver’s medical certificate.
• Willingness and ability to travel to multi-state job site.

Responsibilities

• Grade area for erosion control as required.
• Excavation with a hand shovel.
• Operates a truck or other vehicle to reach the work site.
• Read and interpret blueprints and designs; discusses work to be performed with Site Lead or others.
• Answer inquiries from citizens regarding work performed.
• Selects tools, equipment, and materials required for the job; load and unload materials and equipment.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used; may assist other maintenance crews in emergency situations or take immediate action to mitigate hazards.
