Job summary

Austin Peay State University seeks a Director of the Carroll Entrepreneurship Center to provide leadership for a university-wide, community-facing initiative designed to cultivate innovation, support new venture creation, and strengthen the Clarksville/Montgomery County regional economy.

The Director will develop programs that connect APSU students, faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, investors, and community partners while positioning the University as an essential partner in the region’s

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
Experience in entrepreneurship, innovation and venture development.
Experience managing programs with multiple stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work across academic disciplines and with external partners.
Entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities and translate ideas into action.

Responsibilities

Lead the Center’s strategic direction and annual programs.
Build regional entrepreneurial ecosystem relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and community partners.
Develop entrepreneurship programming for APSU students and community entrepreneurs.
Lead the APSU Student Pitch Competition and other initiatives that identify and support student ventures.
Support faculty innovation and commercialization by connecting faculty with resources and partners.
Coordinate with the APSU SBDC to create an effective pipeline of support for entrepreneurs.
