Overview

• Manatt’s Entertainment team is a multidisciplinary practice advising companies, financiers, investors, creators, talent, brands, and entrepreneurs across entertainment and media.
• The role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing sophisticated entertainment, intellectual property, finance, and corporate agreements.
• Associates will support a range of transactions, including financing, investment, M&A, production, licensing, distribution, and commercial deals.
• Work includes advising clients across film, television, digital media, gaming, immersive and live entertainment, technology, and emerging entertainment businesses.
• Representative areas of exposure include film and television financing, production, distribution, and co-productions; corporate structuring, M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments; talent, executive, producer, and creator-side transactions; digital media, creator economy, gaming, and interactive entertainment; and intellectual property acquisition, licensing, merchandising, commercialization, and brand partnerships.
• The practice advises independent studios, production companies, financiers, investors, and emerging entertainment businesses.
• Prior experience at a large law firm, in-house, or in another entertainment industry role is valued; experience with guilds or guild-related matters is a plus.
• Associates are expected to contribute to business development efforts and cultivate their own book of business over time.
• While offering flexibility, much of the mentoring, professional development, and teamwork for the role takes place through regular collaboration in the Los Angeles office.
