Compensation
Compensation Rate: $15/hr
Responsibilities
- Consistently perform all assignments and responsibilities as an Entertainment technician, including warehouse and event preparation, stagehand, spotlight operator, light board operator, audio operator, special effects, puppet assistance, costume dressing changes, etc.
- Assist with the install, operation, and strike of all Entertainment shows and events.
- Provide theatrical support assistance to outside vendors and contractors.
- Perform scene shifts, prop changes, support puppeteers, costume changes, special effects, and assist vendors and contractors.
- Capable of performing as a show technician and warehouse technician in addition to the above.
- Assist with install, show operation, and strike for all Entertainment Department shows and events.
- Perform daily operational duties to assist the department, including covering open positions, communicating show and schedule changes, and sharing information with co‑workers and management.
- Troubleshoot maintenance needs and make minor repairs on scenic elements, sound system or lighting system, lighting fixtures or other technical components.
- Maintain quality standards, cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards for all assigned tasks.
- Provide technical support and service for all departmental needs and perform other functions as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Applicant must submit a resume to be considered.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
- Willing to be trained to operate vans, trucks (non‑CDL) and lifts.
- College degree in Theatre or related discipline preferred but not required, or equivalent certification/documentation of experience.
- Minimum of 2 years general experience in a theatrical environment as a technician with knowledge of technical theater (rigging, safety, audio and lighting systems, special effects, video, scenery and drapery, set decorating, construction, maintenance and repair).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with no set days off (early mornings, days, evenings, late nights, overnights, weekends, holidays).
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Hands‑on capability to operate technical equipment and troubleshoot problems.
- Physical requirements: stand, sit or walk for extended periods up to four hours per shift; stand, bend or kneel for long periods; bend, reach, twist and turn with flexibility; lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds several times per shift; climb 60 stairs multiple times per day or ladder up to 40 ft; ability to work at a height of 80 ft is preferred; work in environments with atmospheric effects (fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubble, snow, scents); operate mechanical equipment including handheld power devices and table‑mounted tools.
- Fit‑tested to wear a P95 or N95 respirator mask; required to be clean shaven for proper seal, will shave as needed.
