Viasat is looking for a Technical Product Owner for our Global Enterprise Applications team to ensure business continuity of key enterprise capabilities while helping to drive company-wide adoption of next-generation solutions.

Successful candidates will be able both think strategically and tactically and will have a proven track record of being able to implement efficiently. An ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing needs is also essential.

The day-to-day

• Lead all aspects of planning, design, implementation, organizational change, and reporting activities for highly visible enterprise platforms and systems.
• Work with teams across Viasat to craft, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions at scale that meet business and technical requirements.
• Lead governance process and funding needs and provide visibility of product status to stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and assistance to DBAs and other technical resources.
• Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous requests.
• Be an enabler of customers and projects.
• Develop, refine, and report on relevant metrics.
• Vendor management.

What you'll need

• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience in project planning, resource management and project delivery.
• 5+ years of system security, network and/or application security experience.
• Experience with regulations/frameworks (ex. PCI, PII, ISO27001, NIST).
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical collaborators across multiple business units.
• Knowledge of common protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, 802.1x, routing protocols).
• Excellent communication skills.
• US Citizenship Required.
• Up to 10% Travel.

What will help you on the job

• 5+ years of domain knowledge and/or experience in the disciplines of application development, software engineering and/or information security.
• Experience with complete product life cycle in a production services environment, including design, implementation, load and scale testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with external suppliers, lead all aspects of performance evaluations, follow company standards, and address risks.
• Experience with cloud platforms and/or technologies (Amazon, Openstack, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of logging, monitoring, security logging, visualization systems.
• Knowledge or experience with common ERP platforms from vendors such as Oracle or SAP.
• Knowledge of software automation and DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, tools, and methods).

Salary range

$98,000.00 - $153,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $121,000.00- $182,000.00/ annually.
