Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Principal Storage Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and lifecycle management of enterprise storage platforms. You will direct storage architecture, mentoring, and modernization across on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities include driving SAN/NAS designs, performance optimization, automation, and governance. This role requires senior leadership and strong collaboration with Platform, Cloud, and Security teams in a large-scale infrastructure setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 12+ years managing enterprise storage environments.
• 5+ years in senior architect or technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise with enterprise SAN and Fiber Channel architectures.
• Extensive NAS and file services experience.
• Strong scripting and automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and strategic direction of enterprise storage platforms.
• Define architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and modernization strategies for storage.
• Serve as high-level technical escalation point for complex storage issues.
• Drive storage transformations across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and support large-scale SAN infrastructures.
• Design and support enterprise NAS solutions and file services.
• Collaborate with networking for storage transport design and connectivity.
• Develop automation for provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Lead disaster recovery, backup, and data protection efforts.
