Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is hiring an Enterprise Software and Solution Architect to support NIH in Bethesda, MD. The role is full-time, onsite at NIH and/or remote, leading enterprise architecture efforts and MVP prototyping in a fast-paced research environment.

The candidate will drive EA governance across NLM/NCBI divisions, align IT strategy with program goals, and mentor a team of architects while partnering with CTO and engineers on scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise software architecture initiatives across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong stakeholder management.
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and modern software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead, promote, and inspire crosscutting adoption of EA practices and principles.
• Capture and document current software solutions, tech stacks, and processes.
• Identify gaps and roadmap a future-state architecture with a cohesive view.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build consensus around the EA process.
• Own the EA process from input capture to implementation and prototyping.
