Job summary

Erias Ventures, LLC. is seeking a motivated Frontend Developer who enjoys building intuitive web applications.

You will collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver cohesive user experiences and will write maintainable code and unit tests in a hybrid work setup in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of frontend development experience, a related bachelor’s degree (or master’s with fewer years), and the ability to obtain a DoD 8140/8570 certification

Qualifications

• Five-plus years of front-end software development experience with a related bachelor's degree; or three years with a master's.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD 8140/8570 certification within 60 days.
• Experience with JavaScript and modern web frameworks; knowledge of REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation, enhancement and maintenance of web applications
• Write JavaScript, CSS, HTML and perform code reviews
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers and data scientists to deliver holistic UX
• Troubleshoot issues and write unit tests

Description

We are seeking a motivated Frontend Developer who is passionate about building intuitive applications that meet the needs of our users. Asking questions, failing fast, and writing maintainable code are at the center of what we do while building applications for a Data Lake/Warehouse. Our team is dedicated to mentoring and supporting our colleagues, and we believe that everyone has the potential to grow and excel. Work is performed in a hybrid environment with a great team.

• Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications
• JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review
• Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences
• Help define and interact with REST based API’s
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues in applications and providing support
• Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing
• Other duties as assigned

This position allows for partial telework

Clearance

Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, but not required on day one; U.S. Citizenship required.

Experience

Five plus (5+) years of experience with front end software development/engineering and a Bachelors in related field; or three (3) years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Knowledge or experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software
• Comfortable working on a *nix command line
• Self-motivation; Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (i.e. Security+) within 60 days of hire
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office; flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed

Desired Skills

• Previous experience with a data warehouse is a plus
